Exchange Fair 2025 : STEP OUT!

Hi CIMSA!

In today’s era of globalization, international experience is a very valuable added value for medical students, especially in the increasingly competitive professional world. Not only is it proof of academic ability and courage to explore new worlds, participating in a research exchange program also opens up broader insights into scientific approaches from various cultures and education systems around the world. In addition, this program also forms important abilities such as rapid adaptation, critical thinking, and cross-cultural communication—which are essential soft skills in today’s working world.

Realizing the importance of this, Exchange Fair 2025: Step Out! was here as an inspiring forum for Unsoed’s medical students to get to know and prepare themselves to participate in the research exchange program. This event was designed not only to provide technical information, but also to foster motivation and self-confidence so that students dare to take the first step towards global experience.

The main objective of Step Out! is to increase the interest and active participation of Unsoed’s medical students in the research exchange program. Through a series of informative and interactive activities, it is hoped that medical students will gain a complete understanding of the benefits and steps that need to be taken to participate in this program, from choosing a destination to preparing documents.

Held for three weeks, Exchange Fair 2025: Step Out! presentes various interesting activities. The pre-activity training was held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025. The topic was about “Execute Exchange” presented by Stefanie Jasper Hamindo, CIMSA exchange trainer and “Essentials of SCORE Exchange” presented by Muhammad Rafiano, LORE CIMSA Unsoed. Muhammad Akbar Ramadhana Nasution, delegate of EAMSC New Delhi India 2020 from Indonesia, which helps students compile personal documents convincingly and professional, and also sharing sessions with Muhammad Firman Ihrami, ex-outgoing student to Czech Republic from CIMSA Unsoed, who shared his direct experiences during the research exchange. There were food exhibitions from five continents, which not only introduce culinary culture, but also campus information and research projects on each continent.

Through Step Out! Unsoed’s medical students not only get practical information, but also encouragement to dare to step out of their comfort zone. It is hoped that this event will trigger the birth of a generation of global learners who are open, adaptive, and ready to compete and contribute to the world of international research.
